Coenie Pieterse Candidate Property Practitioner

I was born and raised on a farm in Grahamstown, now known as Makhanda, and farming has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in an agricultural environment taught me the value of hard work, resilience, relationships and respect for the land; principles that continue to guide the way I work with people today.

I attended Marlow Agricultural High School, where my passion for agriculture and rural life was further developed. I later attended Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, where I pursued studies towards a qualification in Mechanical Engineering. This technical background, combined with a lifetime of practical farming experience, has shaped the way I approach property: with attention to detail, practical understanding and an appreciation for how every element of a farm works together.

I have spent most of my life farming, and it remains an industry and community I care deeply about. Because of this background, I understand that a farm is far more than hectares, buildings and infrastructure. It can represent generations of work, a family's livelihood, a business, a legacy and, very often, a deeply personal connection to the land.

When I work with farm owners, I understand the importance of features such as water availability, boreholes, dams, fencing, grazing, livestock facilities, sheds, workshops, staff accommodation, access and general infrastructure. More importantly, I understand why these things matter to both the farmer who has developed the property and the buyer considering its future potential.

My roots in Grahamstown and the surrounding Eastern Cape farming community also give me a genuine appreciation for the people who live and work here. I have a particular passion for farmers, rural communities and the people of Grahamstown, and I value the relationships and trust that have been built through many years of living and working in this environment.

In recent times, I have increasingly focused on agricultural and rural property, representing a growing portfolio of farms. This is a natural extension of my background rather than simply another area of real estate. It allows me to combine my knowledge of farming, understanding of rural property and passion for people with professional property marketing and buyer engagement.

My approach is straightforward: listen carefully, understand the property properly and represent it with the respect it deserves.

Whether I am assisting a family who has farmed the same land for generations, a farmer considering the next chapter, or a buyer looking for the right agricultural opportunity, my aim is to provide knowledgeable, practical and personal service throughout the process.

For me, property is ultimately about people and when it comes to farms, it is also about understanding the land, the lifestyle and the story behind it.
