Meet Ruan Erasmus – a property practitioner with a long track record of success

Hi! I’m a property practitioner for the CSi Property Group, specialising in helping people find their ideal home in Douglasdale, Olivedale, Northriding and Eldoraigne.

What makes you stand out in the real estate industry?

I have a BCom degree from Stellenbosch University and I offer a unique blend of financial expertise and real estate insight. My academic foundation enables me to support my clients through sound property advice and informed investment strategies. Whether working with first-time buyers, seasoned investors or homeowners looking to sell, I bring clarity and confidence to every transaction.

Tell us about the area you specialise in and what you love about it.

I specialise in properties in Douglasdale, Olivedale and Northriding, and there are so many reasons to love these suburbs! As a resident of these areas, you’re close to major commercial hubs and shopping centres like Montecasino and Fourways Mall. If you live in Eldoraigne, you’ve got easy access to the N1, local shopping centres (including Mall@Reds and Centurion Mall) as well as Unitas Hospital. This is important for professionals, families and retirees alike. Most of my properties are in the secure, gated communities that these areas are renowned for.

What are your secrets for helping people buy, sell or rent property?

Great property practitioners see themselves as problem solvers, not just salespeople. They don’t just push deals – they look at the bigger picture and find creative solutions. The secret to my success lies in a combination of personal relationships, in-depth market knowledge and a genuine commitment to client satisfaction. By focusing on these areas, I’ve built a loyal client base that will refer me time and time again.

What advice would you give somebody looking to buy their first property?

The first step is to chat to a bond consultant. By getting prequalified for a home loan and doing the necessary credit checks, you’ll know exactly how much you can spend. Secondly, find a property practitioner who you trust, and build a relationship with him or her. This will enable you to get the lowdown on potential properties and help you find a home that suits your needs. A property practitioner will also give you a good idea of how the purchasing process works upfront so that there are no surprises.
By taking the time to research, plan, and understand the process, you’ll be able to make an informed and confident decision when buying your first property in South Africa. It might seem like a lot, but with the right guidance and preparation, it’s a journey that will be incredibly rewarding in the end.
