Meet Tatum Segal – a property practitioner who believes in building genuine relationships
Hi! I’m a property practitioner for the CSi Property Group, specialising in helping people find their ideal home in Sandton, Centurion and Randburg.
What makes you stand out in the real estate industry?
I have a genuine love for getting to know my clients, understanding their needs and making the process of finding a home as smooth and enjoyable as possible. I’m a friendly, approachable person who’s always excited to assist and answer questions.
Tell us about the area you specialise in and what you love about it.
I specialise in helping clients find rental properties in Centurion, Randburg, Sandton and surrounding areas. What I love most about these areas is their unique blend of convenience, community and opportunity.
Centurion offers a great mix of modern amenities, family-friendly neighbourhoods and easy access to major highways. That makes it perfect for people who want a balanced lifestyle close to both Pretoria and Johannesburg.
Randburg is a dynamic hub with diverse housing options, excellent schools and plenty of shopping and entertainment choices. Each neighbourhood has its own character, from quiet suburban streets to vibrant urban pockets. I enjoy matching each client with a home that suits their unique needs and lifestyle.
Sandton, well known as Joburg’s business and lifestyle heart, is an exciting area where urban sophistication meets luxury living. From modern apartments to upmarket estates, Sandton offers fantastic options for professionals and families alike. I love helping clients find their perfect fit in this vibrant area of Gauteng.
For me, it’s incredibly rewarding to help people discover all the hidden gems these areas have to offer, and to see them settle into a place that truly feels like home.
What are your secrets for helping people buy, sell or rent property?
My secret to success in helping people buy, sell, and rent property comes down to three key things: building genuine relationships, truly understanding each client’s needs and maintaining open, honest communication throughout the entire process.
With my years of experience, I understand that sometimes clients may not always be pleased with every outcome, whether it’s a negotiation that doesn’t go exactly as planned or a property search that takes longer than expected. But through it all, I remain committed to always acting in my clients’ best interests, making sure every decision is based on what’s right for them.
I believe every client deserves personalised service, so I take the time to listen carefully and understand what they’re looking for, whether it’s finding a cosy rental, buying their dream home, or selling their property quickly and at the right price. I always keep my clients’ goals front and centre.
What advice would you give somebody looking to buy their first property?
My advice to anyone buying their first property is to take it one step at a time and work with a professional who truly understands your needs and has your best interests at heart. Buying your first home is a big decision, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all the options and information out there.
Start by figuring out what’s most important to you. This could include location, budget, size or lifestyle features. Then make a realistic list of must-haves and nice-to-haves. Remember, it’s okay to compromise on some things, but always keep your long-term goals in mind.
Get pre-approved for a home loan early so you know exactly what you can afford, and avoid falling in love with a property that’s out of your budget.
Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions, no matter how small or silly they might seem. As your agent, I’m here to guide you, answer all your questions, and make the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
Finally, trust your instincts and take your time. It’s important to find a home that feels right for you, not just financially but emotionally too. Buying a property is a big step, but with the right guidance and a clear plan, it can be one of the most rewarding decisions you’ll ever make.
